An Arabic adventure. . .

Arabic is an interesting and very rich language! All our office team has taken at least 12 hours of Arabic lessons. WE LOVE THIS LANGUAGE and the culture that surrounds it.

Zar (picture) decided to enroll at Language Loop during his senior year in high school. He spent six months learning Arabic with Maha. Right at the end of his program, he said to us: "I am going to Egypt for two months and I am going by myself". We all thought he was kidding. :-) But, he was not.

Zar lived in a very nice apartment, loved the food, the people, learned even more Arabic and practiced it. What a great experience!! All of us are a little envious. :-)))

Humor:

A man had trouble with his English, so his friend taught him how to say "Apple pie and coffee" so when on the job, he could order some food at the local restaurant during his lunch hour. This was fine with our man for several months, but after several months he wanted a little more variety in his fare. His friend was glad to oblige and taught him how to say "Ham and cheese sandwich".

The man proudly walked into the restaurant the next day and said to the waitress, "Ham and cheese sandwhich." To which the waitress responded, "White or Rye?"

With shoulders sagging and the smile gone from his face he answered back, "Apple pie and coffee."

;-)

Moral of the story: Shucks, figure it out for yourself.
